The Threshold Moment
As we stand on the threshold between what was and what will be, we find ourselves in a sacred moment of transition. Drawing from Exodus 15, we encounter Moses and the Israelites at their own threshold moment—having just crossed the Red Sea, standing between the slavery of Egypt and the promise of the land ahead. Their response wasn't to strategize or panic, but to sing. They declared three profound truths that we desperately need today: 'The Lord is my strength, my song, and my salvation.' This isn't just ancient history; it's a blueprint for navigating our own Red Sea moments. When we look back at 2025, we can identify our own impossible crossings—the sickness, the loss, the relationships, the wilderness seasons. But here's the transformative truth: we didn't cross them alone. God's strength sustained us when our own ran out. His song gave meaning to our struggles when everything felt meaningless. And His faithfulness became our victory. The Israelites made one critical mistake though—they left their praise at the shoreline. As they journeyed into the desert, their songs of gratitude turned into complaints and murmuring, which ultimately kept an entire generation from entering the promised land. We must learn from their failure. Gratitude isn't just a nice sentiment; it's a spiritual discipline that determines whether we advance forward or wander in circles. As we prepare to step into 2026, we're called to make room for God—to prepare a habitation for Him in our lives. This means carrying our praise beyond the shoreline, into the desert places, into the unknown territories ahead.
